Public Relations internships

Clinton-Macomb Public Library is looking for a PR intern for winter 2018! Applications are due on November 17. Responsibilities include: writing and editing press releases, assisting with graphic design work, event planning, monitoring and managing
social media, working with local cable television and outreach events and
program planning.

Requirements include:

  • Completion of 12 credit hours in public relations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the Adobe Design Suite
  • Graphic design and video content creation preferred
  • Social media posting and monitoring experience
  • Knowledge of html or WordPress is preferred
  • Enthusiastic, solution-oriented collaborator
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to prioritize duties and tasks and work independently
  • Strong speaking, listening and written communication skills

Detroit Zoological Society is looking for a PR intern for the winter of 2018. Interns will be responsible for researching and drafting press releases, talking points, newsletter profiles, Facebook status updates and other PR-related copy, and more.

The EMU Convocation Center is looking for a PR intern for PR/Social Media/Events interns for this coming winter semester. The Convo is looking to hire 2-3 interns, and this internship can count towards credit hours.

Identity PR is is currently accepting applications for our winter social media and media relations/marketing internship programs. Each internship session lasts approximately four months to give interns a truly immersive agency experience.

Requirements:

  3. Driven individual and hard worker dedicated to delivering great work.
  4. Hunger to learn and ability to take direction and apply it to future work.

Communications internships

Constellium Automotive Structures is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish) student intern to support their Communications activities in the U.S. and Mexico. Intern responsibilities include:

  • Develop materials, including videos, to post to employee TV system related to corporate and local news/activities as well as benefits, health and wellness, and more.
  • Draft articles for internal publications, as well as news releases, conference proposals and social media.
  • Prepare presentation materials for conferences and speaking engagements.
  • Participate in event management for customer and technology events, auto shows and grand openings of new facilities.
  • Work with external PR and tradeshow service partners.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador with internal and external audiences.

Requirements include:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  2. Experience with Adobe CS preferred (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere)

  3. Proficiency in Spanish preferred (speaking/reading/writing)Strong communication skills (writing samples may be required)

  4. Ability to work 20-24 hours per week

  5. Capable of handling multiple priorities and tasks

  6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders

  7. International mindset

  8. Junior or senior level students only

Journalism internships

Institute on Political Journalism in Washington, DC. is accepting early applications for their summer internship program until December 5. Interns will spend 8 weeks in the nation’s capital with students from around the country and world who are all passionate about politics, getting the story straight and learning the ins and outs of the news business.
