Take your public relations education abroad!

By: Andrea Mellendorf

Have you ever been interested in studying public relations in a new place, maybe even a new country? Studying abroad can give you an opportunity to do just that!

In the summer of 2015, I took my education abroad through the Public Relations in the United Kingdom program as a guest student at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. During my four weeks in London I studied international public relations under the instruction of a UNCC professor, visited global agencies such as Ketchum and Weber Shandwick at their London location, spent time at the London College of Communication, and went on corporate tours at IBM, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and more!

This program is accepting applications until Feb. 8, so if you are interested, I encourage you to apply! My four weeks in London taught me more than I could have ever imagined about international PR and the opportunities available to me in the field.

For more information on the PR in the UK program at UNCC, visit their website! Studying abroad is a unique and priceless opportunity, you certainly can’t lose anything by applying!
