Four reasons you should attend SDC

By: Andrea Mellendorf

It’s SDC season here at PRSSA! What’s SDC? Well thanks for asking! SDC is the annual Student Development Conference put on by PRSSA! Here are four reasons why you should plan on attending SDC this year:

Untitled

1. Professional development

The name itself has the word “development” right in it! Come to SDC to gain insights into the public relations field and leave with knowledge that will help you in the classroom and in the career field.

2. Networking

With professionals coming from all different areas of the public relations field, the networking opportunities at SDC are priceless! SDC provides opportunities to help build connections with both professionals in the field and fellow public relations students.

3. Resume building

The afternoon of SDC will be spent getting your questions about resumes and interviewing answered, and getting some resume help from area professionals!

4. Education

Our speakers at SDC will be speaking about working across cultures and pursuing a career in international public relations. Use this opportunity to expand your knowledge and learn new things about PR!

This year’s Student Development Conference will be held on Dec. 4, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Student Center! Have any questions? Contact the PRSSA Vice President of Special Events and Programs, Andrea, at amellend@emich.edu.
