Meet RoseAnn Nicolai, the host of our event planning workshop! The event planning workshop will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in SC 304. It is free for paid members and $5 for non-members. This is an excellent learning opportunity for those interested in event planning. RoseAnn Nicolai is an event planner and marketing and association consultant with her own firm Nicolai Events & Communications. Ms. Nicolai has over 20 years of event planning, association management and marketing experience. Under her leadership her company of three handles logistics management for nearly 60 different events a year with ninety percent having a fund-raising or some other revenue generating component. Events have ranged in size and scope as small as 20 people for leadership training to as large as 10,000 in attendance at a local Art Fair. Some of her current clients include YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation and Berkley Area Chamber of Commerce and Boys and Girls Club of Troy.
Under her leadership her company was awarded in 2007 a National Clarion Award for its coordination of the ArtServe Michigan Governor’s Awards for Arts & Culture Gala and in 2011 awarded the same award for its coordination of the grand opening for the N’Namdi Center for Contemporary Art. In addition, she received recognition with the Special Event Industry Esprit Award for her management of the 24-hour grand opening of the N’Namdi Center, where over 2000 people attended in a 24 hour period.
Ms. Nicolai is a past president of Women in Communications of Detroit and is currently an Advisory Board Member for the Public Relations Program at Eastern Michigan University. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing and French. In 2014 she received her certification in Association Management.
