Michigan Breastfeeding Network’s public relations internship

Important Details 

  • Summer and Fall semester
  • PAID and academic credit eligible
  • Part-time, 15-20 hours per week
  • Remote but will be supervised by the Executive Director and a board member
  •  Meetings will be conducted through video conference and occasionally in person

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing written materials including, website content, articles, monthly e-newsletter, fact sheets and other documents
  • Prepare news release and pitch to the media
  • Manage media list, monitor coverage and archive clips
  • Create content for and assist with monitoring social media channels
  • Assist with creating and developing marketing and promotional designs
  • Assist in event planning
  • Participate in meetings and brainstorming sessions
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least two years of postsecondary education
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
  • Knowledgeable of and access to graphic design software
  • Knowledge of breastfeeding encouraged but not required
  • Candidates must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work both independently and with a high degree of dependability and quality
  • Reliable computer and internet. Work will be done remotely with check-ins happening by phone or video conference.
  • Reliable vehicle for occasional travel – mileage will be reimbursed.
