Many newcomers say the one factor that held them back from attending an EMU PRSSA meeting is that they found them to be intimidating. EMU PRSSA meetings are far from intimidating.
So what happens in an EMU PRSSA meeting?
The meeting starts off with the members of the e-board presenting announcements and updates to PRSSA members and fellow meeting attendees.
Then the speaker of the night gives their presentation. Every meeting there is a speaker who works in PR or a related field. During their presentation, the speakers touch on their career background and give a presentation on the area of PR they work in, such as social media, health care PR or nonprofit PR. Our guest speakers is what separates us from other student organizations. We are pre-professional organization meaning our goal is to prepare our members for their future careers in PR or a related field. Our guest speakers provides valuable career information and sometimes even have internship opportunities to announce. There is always time at the end of the presentation to ask questions.
