Meet SDC speaker Darci McConnell

The 16th Annual Student Development Conference committee is proud to present Darci E. McConnell, the president and CEO of McConnell Communications, Inc.

Darci will be presenting a workshop on relationship building at SDC on Friday, Dec. 6.

Don’t forget to register for SDC by Nov. 29 to receive the early bird rate of $10. All RSVPs after this date will be $15 per person. Your registration fee includes lunch.

Payment and RSVPs must be made to Lisa McClees by Friday, Nov. 29 to receive the early bird rate. As this is a fundraiser for EMU PRSSA, no refunds will be given once payment is made.

MEET DARCI MCCONNELL

Darci E. McConnell, president and CEO of McConnell Communications, Inc., has worked for nearly 20 years in the communications field, both as a public darcimcconnellrelations professional and as a journalist. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of American and the Detroit Black Public Relations Society. She sits on the board for Habitat for Humanity, the Detroit Community Initiative and the Detroit City Chess Club.

Darci is a past president of the Detroit Association of Black Journalists and a former adjunct professor at Wayne State University’s School of Communication Arts. Prior to establishing her company, McConnell spent 14 years as a print reporter for newspaper outlets across the state as well as in Washington, D.C.

Darci holds a bachelor’s degree in English and communication from the University of Michigan. Her personal passion is making a difference in the lives of young people, through mentoring and opportunities.
