Well, as you may know, Fajita Fest 2012 at Eastern Michigan University is right around the corner, so I wanted to be one of the first people to welcome you to Eastern and Fajita Fest! While the games, music and delicious fajitas of the event are a bonus, it’s the gathering of student organizations that’s the most rewarding.
During my freshmen year, the Fajita Fest was one of the most highlighting events going on. It was an awesome experience to see so many campus organizations offering membership opportunities to students. That year, I joined an empowering student organization called Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). Once you become a member and part of the PRSSA family, it will be easier to see why our organization is the number one pre-professional organization in the nation. PRSSA proves to be an essential tool to students in public relations as well as other majors such as journalism, marketing, advertising, business and management. Our organization focuses on important areas like internships, interviewing skills, real world preparation, among other numerous topics. If that’s not saying enough, check out this blog on why you should join.
As the Chapter President for the Eleanor Wright Chapter of PRSSA, I am able to play a larger role in providing students with the same opportunities I had, along with new and improved ones. Our organization has and will continue providing amazing hands-on experiences in several areas of professionalism to our members, along with creating multiple opportunities for you to be inspired. As a student at Eastern Michigan University, it is important to take advantage of all of the valuable resources within your grasp. So go ahead, join our PRSSA family today! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to be a part of our great learning community and committed team for student success!
*Not going to Fajita Fest, no problem! Stop by our Fall Kickoff at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11 in room 304 of the Student Center. The Kickoff is another great opportunity for you to meet our amazing E-board and learn more about PRSSA.
