Get more out of Twitter!

There is more to Twitter than tweeting to your friends and following your favorite celebrities. One of my many favorite things to do on Twitter is to participate in tweet chats!

Tweet chats happen on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis and they allow you to connect with professionals and/or other students who you may not have had the chance to interact with before. Check out four of the best twitter chats that I think can help students learn the most about PR!:

#pr20chat: This twitter chat brings together public relations, social media and technology and discussions about the three as “PR 2.0.” Chats are hosted by Heather Whaling and Justin Goldsborough!

#prstudchat: Join Deidre Breakenridge and Valerie Simon for chats that bring together students and professionals. Chats typically take place at 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday’s. Follow Deidre or Valerie to find out more information!

#brandchat: All about brands and branding. Learn from professionals, find out what is new in the industry and keep up on trends. Follow Brand Chat on Twitter to find out details, but this tweet chat is usually held at 10 a.m. CT on Wednesdays.

#PRSSA: PRSSA chats are exactly what they sound like – twitter chats hosted by PRSSA! They happen monthly during the academic school year, and each month there’s a different topic. From ethics to internships, this chat will help you learn a lot! Follow PRSSA National for more information.
