Join us in our Inaugural Speed Mentoring Event on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Student Center, Room 310A.
So what is speed mentoring?
Modeled after speed dating, speed mentoring focuses on quick-hit information, time-efficient networking and the methodical pursuit of gaining valuable information from a professional in the field. Speed mentoring is a structured method for our students to essentially seek out advice from pros during a fast-paced event (3 minutes per person), while networking too.
So who are the mentors?
We’ve invited professionals from the field of public relations to lend their expertise and knowledge. Believe me when I tell you that you won’t want to miss out on networking and learning from the pros!
How will it work?
The evening will begin with a brief overview on how speed mentoring works. After this discussion, we will begin the mentoring process.
We are allowing three minutes with each mentor and two minutes to make sure everyone moves on for a total of 50 minutes.
This means that everyone must keep moving so all students can meet all the mentors. You’ll notice that we have scheduled the event for two full hours, that is to provide extra time to informally allow you to go back to talk more with our mentors.
If you would like to join us for this exciting event, please RSVP to Emily Vontom at firstname.lastname@example.org indicating:
